Have a great idea?

How to submit

We only accept submissions via email. Please send a covering email, telling us who you are and why you’re getting in touch, with attachments as described on this page. As we receive so many submissions, we are unable to reply to each one. If you haven’t heard anything within six weeks this means that your work is not a match for the agency and your personal details will be deleted.  Any submissions that are not a match for the agency will be deleted.

We’re looking for high quality writing and/or illustration, of course. We also like things that are a bit different and take a new approach to storytelling or illustration. We don’t give a detailed list of things we’re searching for, though, because sometimes we don’t know what we want until we see it!

Send submissions to: submissions@springliterary.com

Fiction authors

Please send a one-page synopsis of your work and some sample chapters (around 5,000-10,000 words).  In Word please, attached to your email. Please don’t send the full manuscript.

Non-fiction authors

A synopsis of the book and why you’re writing it, along with three sample sections or chapters would be ideal. A short CV would be great too, but not essential.

Picture book authors

One full text is fine, but it’d be good to see more - feel free to send up to four.

Illustrators

It’d be great to see a portfolio of up to 10 images as PDFs or jpgs. Please make sure that the attachments are not too large, otherwise the email won’t get through.
