Emily Haworth-Booth
Emily Haworth-Booth is an author and illustrator whose debut picture book, The King Who Banned the Dark, was shortlisted for nine awards including the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, Little Rebels Award and Independent Bookshop Week Award, and longlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal for Illustration.
Alongside her books for children, Emily writes fiction, memoir and poetry for adults, and is a winner of the Mslexia First Novel Prize, the Jonathan Cape/Observer Graphic Short Story Prize and the Foyle Young Poets Award. Emily has an MA in Children’s Book Illustration with Distinction from Cambridge School of Art, and teaches at the Royal Drawing School and Venster Academy. She is currently a judge for the Little Rebels Award for Radical Children's Fiction.
Emily lives by the sea in Devon with her husband, dog and two horses.
