Angela Vives
Angela Vives is an artist and illustrator, originally from Colombia, who loves to create stories about real people and the natural world.
In 2020, Angela completed an MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. She also holds an MA in Fine Arts and has worked for over 15 years in post-production as a commercial video editor.
Angela's work was shortlisted for the Cheltenham Illustration Awards and longlisted for the World Illustration Awards. her work was Highly Commended for The Macmillan Prize of Illustration, and Highly Commended for the FAB Prize. In addition, she received the Don Freeman Grant for a pre-published illustrator, awarded by the SCBWI. Angela is currently shortlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize for picture book illustration 2024.
Angela’s debut non-fiction children's book with Thames & Hudson, Bright Stars of Black British History, was published in autumn 2023.
